Abstract :
PURPOE: To report novel immunoreactivity in a patient with melanoma-aociated retinopathy.
DEIGN: Retropective cae report and experimental tudy.
METHOD: A 32-year-old woman with a hitory of metatatic melanoma preented with bilateral decreaed viual acuity. Electroretinography, Goldmann perimetry, immunohitochemitry, and Wetern blotting of her erum were performed.
REULT: Electroretinography howed a “negative” B-wave. Paracentral and central cotoma were oberved on Goldmann perimetry. Antibodie to a retinal tranducin were demontrated by Wetern blotting. No immunoreactivity to retinal bipolar cell wa detected by immunohitochemitry.
CONCLUION: Melanoma-aociated retinopathy can be related to a variety of antiretinal antibodie. Recognition of tranducin, a novel melanoma-aociated retinopathy antigen, may be important for identifying and treating patient with night blindne and melanoma.
