Lo of fragile hitidine triad (FHIT) expreion and microatellite intability in periocular ebaceou gland carcinoma in patient with Muir-Torre yndrome

PURPOE: To report fragile hitidine triad expreion and microatellite intability in periocular ebaceou gland carcinoma. DEIGN: Interventional cae erie. METHOD: Biopy pecimen of periocular ebaceou gland carcinoma obtained from ix patient (mean age, 60 ± 17 year; range, 38 to 83 year, 5 male, 1 female) with Muir-Torre yndrome and hitopathologically proven ebaceou gland carcinoma were tudied immunohitochemically for the preence of fragile hitidine triad protein. Polymerae chain reaction-baed analyi of the marker BAT25, BAT26, D2123, D5346, and D17250 wa performed for microatellite intability in tumorou and matching normal tiue. REULT: Fragile hitidine triad protein wa detectable in the ebaceou gland carcinoma from one patient with microatellite intability. It wa not detectable in ebaceou gland carcinoma pecimen from five patient without any evidence of microatellite intability. CONCLUION: Inactivation of fragile hitidine triad tumor uppreor gene or inactivation of the mimatch-repair ytem reulting in microatellite intability may contribute to the development of periocular ebaceou gland carcinoma in Muir-Torre yndrome.
