Infraorbital nerve paly: A complication of laer in itu keratomileui

PURPOE: To report infraorbital nerve dyfunction after laer in itu keratomileui. DEIGN: Obervational cae report. METHOD: Neuro-ophthalmologic examination with brain and orbital magnetic reonance imaging (MRI) and orbital computed tomography (CT). REULT: During laer in itu keratomileui, two healthy women, aged 42 and 46 year, experienced acute onet of harp ipilateral cheek pain. Both cae occurred during manipulation of the eyelid peculum. Potoperatively, ipilateral numbne and tingling or pain of the upper cheek wa reported, and examination howed decreaed enation in the ditribution of the infraorbital nerve. In both cae, brain and orbit MRI and orbit CT were normal. Both patient were managed medically. In one patient, mild ymptom perited 1 year potoperatively, and in the econd patient, moderate dicomfort perited 8 month potoperatively. CONCLUION: Infraorbital nerve paly i a potential complication of laer in itu keratomileui. ymptom improve but may perit.
