Multiple bilateral eyelid mollucum contagioum leion aociated with TNFα-antibody and methotrexate therapy

PURPOE: To demontrate a patient developing multiple bilateral eyelid mollucum contagioum leion after initiation of TNFα-antibody therapy for rheumatoid arthriti. DEIGN: ingle interventional cae report. METHOD: Clinical, hitopathologic, and immunologic-erological finding are preented. REULT: A 67-year-old patient with a 5-year hitory of rheumatoid arthriti had been treated with prednione and methotrexate for the lat 5 year. After initiation of additional TNFα-antibody treatment, complaint from rheumatoid arthriti ubided, but multiple bilateral mollucum contagioum leion of upper and lower eyelid occurred depite normal or only lightly reduced CD4 (420-178/μl) and CD8 count (143-58/μl). Hitopathologic evaluation of the excied wart confirmed the clinical diagnoi. Under continued therapy, the wart have been recurring for 12 month. CONCLUION: TNFα-antibody treatment for rheumatoid arthriti may compromie the hot repone to mollucum contagioum, epecially if methotrexate i given additionally. Patient hould be informed about thi potential complication.
