Abstract
PURPOE: To report a cae of bacillary angiomatoi of the lower eyelid, conjunctiva, and anterior orbit.
DEIGN: Interventional cae report.
METHOD: A 76-year-old immunocompromied male patient developed a firm vacularized nodule in hi left lower eyelid and anterior orbit.
REULT: An exciional biopy wa performed. Hitopathologic examination revealed an abnormal vacular proliferation and a mixed inflammatory infiltrate. A Warthin-tarry tain howed numerou bacilli. Thee finding are characteritic of bacillary angiomatoi. A erologic pecimen wa poitive for antibodie to Bartonella Quintana.
CONCLUION: The lower lid and anterior orbit are rare location for bacillary angiomatoi. Our cae bring to attention the increaing importance of Bartonella infection a a cauative agent of ophthalmic dieae.
