Abstract
PURPOE: To decribe the hemodynamic effect of oral acetazolamide adminitration on ocular perfuion in a patient with peudotumor cerebri aociated with Crohn dieae.
DEIGN: Interventional cae report.
METHOD: A 20-year-old woman with a 5-year hitory of Crohn dieae preented with a 2-week hitory of headache and blurred viion in both eye. Ophthalmologic examination wa normal. Fluorecein angiography howed a profound delay in retinal and choroidal perfuion. Lumbar puncture howed an opening preure of 320 mm water. Therapy wa initiated with oral acetazolamide 750 mg per day.
REULT: A ubjective improvement of ymptom wa noted over 4 day. Repeat fluorecein angiography howed reolution of the ocular perfuion deficit. No recurrent ymptom were noted 19 month after ceation of therapy.
CONCLUION: Crohn dieae may preent with peudotumor cerebri and evere ocular perfuion deficit that are reverible with oral acetazolamide therapy.
