Abstract
PURPOE: To decribe a cae of exudative retinal capillary hemangioma treated with photodynamic therapy that reulted in an improvement in clinical appearance and viual acuity.
DEIGN: Interventional cae report.
METHOD: A 55-year-old Aian man preented with a large exudative peripheral retinal capillary hemangioma of the left eye cauing erou retinal detachment, cytoid macular edema, and a bet-corrected viual acuity of 20/200. The hemangioma wa treated with three ucceive eion of verteporfin photodynamic therapy (PDT).
REULT: With 10 month of follow-up after the initial treatment, involution of the hemangioma, reduction of ubretinal fluid, and improvement of bet-corrected viual acuity to 20/80 wa een.
CONCLUION: Photodynamic therapy may be an effective treatment option in elect cae of exudative retinal capillary hemangioma.
