Photodynamic therapy uing verteporfin-induced minimal change nephrotic yndrome

Purpoe To report a cae of minimal change nephrotic yndrome (MCN) after photodynamic therapy uing verteporfin. Deign Interventional cae report. Method After four cycle of photodynamic therapy, general weakne with generalized edema developed in an otherwie healthy 66-year-old woman, reulting in dypnea and acite. Urinalyi howed heavy proteinuria (4+) with decreaed erum total protein and albumin, and increaed total choleterol level, uggeting nephrotic yndrome. Renal biopy and pathologic diagnoi were performed. Reult Renal biopy revealed normal glomeruli and tubulointertitium by light microcopy, with no immunoglobin or complement depoition. Tranmiion electron microcopy howed diffue effacement of the foot procee of viceral epithelial cell, which i the characteritic finding of minimal change nephrotic yndrome. Concluion We herein report a cae of minimal change nephrotic yndrome after photodynamic therapy uing verteporfin.
