Purpoe
To report a cae of benign intracranial hypertenion occurring during thyreotimulin uppreion hormonotherapy after thyroidectomy for papillary cancer.
Deign
Interventional cae report.
Method
A 45-year-old woman underwent total thyroidectomy for a 7-mm papillary cancer. eventeen year later, he experienced headache, dizzine, irritability, enation of full head, and blurred viion of the right eye while being treated with a mix of L thyroxin (LT4) and liothyronin (LT3). Ophthalmological data (including the preence of papilledema), cerebroorbital magnetic reonance imaging, and lumbar preure evaluation confirmed benign intracranial hypertenion.
Reult
ubtitutive hormonotherapy wa decreaed under pecialized urveillance, permitting remiion of benign intracranial hypertenion ymptom and papilledema.
Concluion
Benign intracranial hypertenion i uually difficult to cure, and it aociation with thyroid hormonotherapy i rare. In our patient, tapering LT4 and withdrawal of LT3 until a euthyroidal tate wa obtained reulted in ucceful treatment of benign intracranial hypertenion
