Abstract
Purpoe
To report the clinical coure and magnetic reonance imaging (MRI) finding in a 28-year-old woman with preeclampia and reverible cortical blindne.
Deign
Interventional cae report.
Method
The patient preented at the 37th week of pregnancy with headache and hypertenion. The next day, her viual acuity decreaed to light perception in both eye. After emergent cearean ection, examination revealed reactive pupil and normal fundi.
Reult
Magnetic reonance imaging of the brain howed area of increaed ignal in both occipital lobe. One month later, at which time the patient’ viual acuity had returned to 20/20, follow-up MRI howed complete reolution of radiologic abnormalitie.
Concluion
Cortical blindne i a rare complication of preeclampia. In thi cae, cortical blindne wa reverible and mot likely due to vaogenic edema rather than vaopam.
