Abstract :
Purpoe
To ae indocyanine green angiography (ICGA) a a method for monitoring autograft perfuion after pterygium exciion with limbal-conjunctival autograft tranplantation (LCAT) and to compare ICGA with anterior egment fluorecein angiography (AFA).
Deign
Nonrandomized propective interventional cae erie.
Method
Twelve eye of 11 patient with primary pterygium treated by exciion and limbal-conjunctival autograft tranplantation were tudied in a clinical practice. Anterior egment fluorecein angiography and ICGA finding for autograft vacularization after pterygium urgery were compared in 12 eye of the 11 patient. Graft perfuion wa monitored for 1 month with AFA and ICGA, on day 1,7, and 30 pot-urgery.
Reult
With AFA no graft perfuion wa oberved by potoperative day 30; only five graft were iofluorecent with ome vacularization, while the remaining even graft were hypofluorecent without any vacularization. In contrat, ICGA howed that, on potoperative day 1, all 12 graft were hypofluorecent with multiple hyperfluorecent foci at the graft margin in the late phae and that, by potoperative day 7, 10 graft were hypofluorecent and appeared to be perfued, originating from the epicleral vacular bed. On day 30, ICGA demontrated iofluorecent graft in 10 eye with ome conjunctival and epicleral vacular pattern on the graft itelf, including the conjunctiva adjacent to the graft. By thi tage, perfuion of the graft wa complete.
Concluion
Indocyanine green angiography i ueful for monitoring graft perfuion after LCAT in pterygium urgery. Further tudie are needed to identify the implication of graft perfuion for therapy following LCAT in patient with pterygium.
