Abstract :
Purpoe
To report the cae of a 58-year-old man with equential bilateral retrolaminar leukemic infiltration of the optic nerve who preented with normal-appearing optic nerve and no optic nerve enhancement.
Deign
Interventional cae report.
Method
A 58-year-old man with chronic myelogenou leukemia (CML) developed progreive viion lo to no light perception in both eye over four day.
Reult
The patient received 14 doe of external beam irradiation and 10 cycle of intrathecal cytarabine. Depite treatment, he developed optic nerve pallor, and viual acuity remained no light perception in both eye.
Concluion
In a patient with leukemia, leukemic optic nerve infiltration may occur even with normal-appearing optic nerve and a normal magnetic reonance image. It i important to maintain a high clinical upicion for optic nerve infiltration o that prompt local irradiation may be initiated.
