Abstract :
Purpoe
To report our initial experience of limited macular tranlocation in patient with ubfoveal choroidal neovacularization econdary to age-related macular degeneration following photodynamic therapy with verteporfin.
Deign
Interventional cae erie.
Method
Retropective review of four eye of four conecutive patient with ubfoveal choroidal neovacularization econdary to age-related macular degeneration who underwent effective limited macular tranlocation following photodynamic therapy. The mean logarithm of minimal angle of reolution preoperative bet-corrected viual acuity wa 20/190 (range, 20/150 to 20/200), and in all eye the viual acuity wa 20/150 or wore. The major outcome meaure were potoperative viual acuity and complication related to the urgery.
Reult
The mean potoperative follow-up wa 6.75 month (range, 6–8 month). Potoperative bet-corrected viual acuity improved by 2 or more nellen line of viual acuity in three of four eye (75%) and remained within 1 line in one of four eye (25%). The mean potoperative bet-corrected viual acuity wa 20/100 (range, 20/40 to 20/150), and in two of the four eye (50%) the viual acuity achieved wa 20/100 or better. No complication wa oberved.
Concluion
Limited macular tranlocation may be a viable option in patient who have previouly undergone photodynamic therapy
