Abstract :
Purpoe To decribe the clinical, angiographic and optical coherence tomography (OCT) finding of a patient with a large retinal capillary hemangioma who wa treated by indocyanine green–mediated photothromboi. Deign Interventional cae report. Method An 18-year-old male patient wa treated at a tertiary referral center with a novel laer-dye procedure that ue low-irradiance 810-nm laer and intravenou indocyanine green injection and wa propectively evaluated with fluorecein and indocyanine green angiography, a well a OCT. Reult Viion improved from 20/125 to 20/32 + 1 at 1-year follow-up. Fundu photography howed marked reduction of a 3 dik diameter retinal capillary hemangioma. Both fluorecein and indocyanine green angiography demontrated reduced tumor perfuion and narrowing of the leion feeder and draining veel a early a 5 day after indocyanine green–mediated photothromboi; OCT howed immediate decreae in retinal elevation and complete reolution of ubretinal fluid within 2 month of treatment. Minimal laer-induced effect were noted in the vicinity of the tumor. Concluion Photothromboi uing low-intenity, 810-nm light to direct laer energy continuouly at the tumor after intravenou indocyanine green infuion wa effective in retoring macular architecture and improving viion in a patient with a large peripheral retinal capillary hemangioma by mean of ubtantial occluion of the tumor vaculature and reolution of ubretinal fluid.
