Abstract :
Purpoe
To report a cae of herpe zoter viru clerokeratiti with anterior uveiti following vaccination with live attenuated varicella vaccine (Oka train).
Deign
Cae report.
Method
The cae record of the patient were reviewed retropectively. Pertinent literature citation were identified uing MEDLINE.
Reult
A 9-year-old boy preented with herpe zoter ophthalmicu 3 year following vaccination with live attenuated varicella vaccine (Oka train). Examination of the affected eye revealed a moderate follicular repone on the palpebral conjunctiva, decreaed corneal enation, mildly elevated intraocular preure, diffue anterior cleriti with marginal keratiti, and a moderately evere anterior uveiti. Amplified DNA from fluid taken from the bae of a cutaneou veicle produced wild-type varicella zoter viru (VZV) DNA, not Oka train.
Concluion
Herpe zoter viru infection need to be conidered in all patient who preent with cleriti, keratiti, or anterior uveiti, regardle of their varicella vaccination tatu.
