Method A 6-year-old girl with poor viion in the left eye and preretinal hemorrhage underwent teting for infectiou, autoimmune and embolic dieae, diabete, and hypertenion. Teting for factor V Leiden and prothrombin G20210A mutation, homocyteine, anticardiolipin antibodie (ACA), lupu anticoagulant, and functional aay for protein , protein C, and antithrombin III were performed to detect a hypercoagulable tate. No IRB approval wa neceary. Reult Only a poitive lupu anticoagulant and moderately elevated ACA IgG were found. The ACA IgG wa moderately elevated on repeat teting 18 month later. Laer to nonperfued retina caued ome regreion of retinal neovacularization. Apirin wa recommended to reduce the rik of future thromboe. Concluion Although uncommon, retinovacular thromboi in children can occur in APA yndrome. Teting for ACA and lupu anticoagulant hould be conidered.
