Abstract :
Purpoe
To report increaed eyelid pigmentation a an advere ide effect aociated with topical ocular hypotenive lipid in African American.
Deign
Interventional cae erie.
Method
Two African-American patient with open-angle glaucoma are decribed in whom increaed eyelid pigmentation developed 1 month to 5 month after beginning treatment with either latanoprot or bimatoprot.
Reult
Latanoprot wa dicontinued in an African-American patient, and pigmentation gradually diminihed by 3 month after ceation of latanoprot. Increaed eyelid pigmentation and increaed eyelah length were noted in another African-American patient after jut 4 week on bimatoprot.
Concluion
An increae in eyelid pigmentation and eyelah growth i a poible complication of topical ocular hypotenive lipid therapy, even in African-American patient. The change eem to preent earlier after bimatoprot treatment then after latanoprot treatment. Ceation of thee medication may lead to lo of induced pigmentation.
