Purpoe To review iue related to the diagnoi, examination, and treatment of children with uveiti that are important for ophthalmologit. Deign Literature review. Method A review wa made of pertinent report from the medical literature, with commentary baed on the author’ experience and on dicuion at an international workhop. Reult There are difference between children and adult in the differential diagnoi and manifetation of uveiti that hould be conidered during evaluation. There may be a higher rik of ome ocular complication uch a uveitic glaucoma, and the preence of other unique complication, uch a amblyopia, in young patient during follow-up. With regard to treatment, children with uveiti may have unique doing requirement and drug-aociated rik uch a growth retardation with ytemic corticoteroid that mut be conidered. Examination and treatment may alo be more difficult with children becaue of problem with patient cooperation. Concluion There are unique patient care iue aociated with uveiti in children that mut be conidered by care provider. Attention to thee iue will improve the well-being of thi patient population.
