Abstract :
Purpoe
To demontrate the advantage and efficacy of internal limiting membrane removal under perfluorocarbon liquid in macular-hole-aociated retinal detachment.
Deign
Interventional cae erie.
Method
Four patient with macular-hole-aociated retinal detachment underwent par plana vitrectomy, retinal reattachment with endodrainage through the macular hole, perfluoro-n-octane injection to eal the macular hole, indocyanine green injection under the perfluoro-n-octane bubble and removal of the indocyanine green-tained internal limiting membrane. Viual acuity and anatomic reult were recorded, with a mean follow-up period of 18 month.
Reult
Potoperatively, the retina wa reattached in all four patient and cloure of the macular hole wa achieved in three eye. Viual acuity improved in all eye.
Concluion
In retinal detachment reulting from macular hole, taining of the internal limiting membrane with indocyanine green injected under perfluoro-n-octane can facilitate peeling of the membrane without exertion of exceive retinal traction and may prevent paage of indocyanine green into the ubretinal pace.
