Abstract :
Purpoe
To decribe the long-term retention of indocyanine green (ICG) in the fundu after ICG-aited internal limiting membrane peeling.
Deign
Cae report.
Method
Two patient underwent vitrectomy including ICG-aited internal limiting membrane peeling. The fundu wa examined with a 780-nm infrared illumination of a canning laer ophthalmocope after urgery.
Reult
No ICG taining of the fundu wa viible ophthalmocopically. Examination with a canning laer ophthalmocope, however, detected fluorecence from reidual ICG until 6 month after urgery in cae 1 and 9 month in cae 2. No complication related to the reidual ICG wa oberved.
Concluion
The reult uggeted that ICG remain in the fundu for a long period after urgery. Clearance of the dye from the diabetic retina may be prolonged.
