To report bilateral optic dik melanocytoma in a healthy infant,
Method
Cae report.
Reult
A 10-month-old healthy boy preented with intermittent right exotropia. Dilated fundu examination howed a heavily pigmented ma within both optic dik. The optic dik were hypoplatic, and there wa diffue retinal pigment epithelial mottling around the optic dik. ytemic evaluation including thyroid function tet, pituitary gland hormone level, adrenal gland hormone level, and magnetic reonance imaging of the brain revealed normal finding. After 1 year, the leion remained table, and the patient wa healthy with normal growth and development.
Concluion
Bilateral optic dik melanocytoma i uncommon. Although thi patient had no ytemic problem, a literature review revealed an aociation of bilateral optic dik melanocytoma, optic dik hypoplaia, and central nervou ytem abnormalitie uch a meningioma and hypopituitarim. ytemic evaluation for central nervou ytem abnormalitie i warranted in uch cae.
