Abstract :
Purpoe
To report viual field defect after vitrectomy for epiretinal membrane with indocyanine green (ICG)–aited internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling.
Deign
Interventional conecutive cae erie.
Method
A retropective review of 16 eye of 16 patient who underwent vitrectomy for idiopathic epiretinal membrane. Indocyanine green-aited ILM peeling wa performed in 7 of 16 eye. The main outcome meaure wa potoperative viual field.
Reult
Four of even eye (57%) with ICG-aited ILM peeling had viual field defect potoperatively. The field defect identified were naal in three eye; in the fourth eye, the viual field wa contricted to approximately 30 degree. None of the nine eye without ICG-aited ILM peeling had a viual field defect.
Concluion
Peripheral viual field defect may occur after vitrectomy with ICG-aited ILM peeling. Although the caue of the defect i unclear, the potential role of ICG toxicity require further invetigation.
