Intraocular preure in patient with human immunodeficiency viru and treated with highly active antiretroviral therapy

Purpoe To compare the intraocular preure (IOP) of patient infected with human immunodeficiency viru (HIV) and treated with highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) to a control group and to determine whether HAART revere the previouly reported reduction in IOP aociated with HIV infection. Deign Retropective cae control tudy. Method Review of patient with HIV infection on HAART compared with a matched control group. Reult Among 64 patient and 56 control ubject, no ignificant difference in IOP wa found (P = .520), nor wa correlation noted between IOP and either CD4+ T-lymphocyte count, or viral load. Concluion When HIV infection i treated with HAART, IOP i not ignificantly different from that of control ubject
