Abstract :
Purpoe
To report the reult of photodynamic therapy in myopic patient with juxtafoveal choroidal neovacularization (CNV).
Deign
Interventional cae erie.
Method
Three conecutive myopic patient with juxtafoveal CNV were treated by photodynamic therapy with the ame protocol a the one ued to treat ubfoveal CNV. Viual acuity wa meaured on Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy tudy (ETDR) chart by an independent oberver. Fluorecein angiography wa performed 6 and 12 week after photodynamic therapy and then every 12 week.
Reult
In all three patient, one treatment of photodynamic therapy uing verteporfin reulted in the involution of the CNV and improvement in bet-corrected viual acuity from 20/50 or 20/40 to 20/25 or more. No retreatment wa required during follow-up, which lated for 12 to 24 month (mean = 17 month).
Concluion
Photodynamic therapy may be an effective treatment for juxtafoveal CNV in myopic eye.
