Abstract :
Purpoe
To report the clinical outcome of patient undergoing intravitreal injection of triamcinolone acetonide a treatment of long-tanding cytoid macular edema after phacoemulification.
Deign
Propective clinical interventional cae erie tudie.
Method
The tudy included five patient uffering from cytoid macular edema after cataract urgery. They received an intravitreal injection of 25-mg crytalline triamcinolone acetonide tranconjunctivally with topical anetheia.
Reult
In the follow-up period of 6.6 ± 4.1 month, viual acuity increaed from 0.26 ± 0.13 to a mean maximal viual acuity of 0.60 ± 0.19. For all patient, viual acuity improved during the follow-up by at leat 0.20. Two (40%) patient developed intraocular preure value higher than 21 mm Hg, which could be controlled by topical antiglaucomatou treatment.
Concluion
Intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide may be a therapeutic option for long-tanding cytoid macular edema after cataract urgery.
