Rhegmatogenou retinal detachment after rupture of retinal arterial macroaneurym

Purpoe To report two cae of rhegmatogenou retinal detachment following rupture of retinal arterial macroaneurym. Deign Obervational cae report. Method Review of clinical record of 75 conecutive eye (73 patient) with macroaneurym. Reult Ruptured macroaneurym wa preent in 68 of the 75 eye, and rhegmatogenou retinal detachment developed pontaneouly in 2 (2.9%) of the 68 eye. In the 2 eye with retinal detachment, there were no predipoing leion to retinal detachment and the detachment occurred either 2 week or 1 month after the rupture of a macroaneurym. Retinal detachment and poterior vitreou detachment developed imultaneouly after bleeding from the macroaneurym pread into the vitreou in 1 eye. Concluion We report the occurrence of retinal detachment after macroaneurymal rupture. Detailed fun-du examination i required to detect retinal detachment in the follow-up of patient with ruptured macroaneurym.
