Abstract :
Purpoe
To report traumatic, hemorrhagic detachment of the retinal pigment epithelium that wa detected by optical coherence tomography.
Deign
Obervational cae report.
Method
A 17-year-old boy with hemorrhagic fundu leion caued by blunt ocular trauma wa examined by optical coherence tomography and angiography.
Reult
Initially, two dark red, mounded leion were een, with one in the macula and the other adjacent to the optic dik. The leion blocked the fluorecence on fluorecein and indocyanine green angiography. Optical coherence tomography demontrated dome-haped elevation of the retinal pigment epithelium at each leion. Four month later, the retinal pigment epithelium detachment diappeared in the tomography image, and no carring wa evident ophthalmocopically. mall choroidal rupture were detected in each leion by angiography.
Concluion
Optical coherence tomography wa ueful in evaluating the ite of the hemorrhage in the chorioretinal layer caued by blunt ocular trauma.
