Abstract :
Purpoe
To report a cae of microporidial keratoconjunctiviti in an HIV-eronegative.
Method
We report on a 40-year-old woman who preented with acute ymptom of 4 day’ duration. Viual acuity wa 6/6 in the right eye and 6/6 partial in the left eye. In the left eye, there wa diffue conjunctival congetion with papillary change. There were multiple raied epithelial leion in the cornea.
Reult
Corneal craping tained with potaium hydroxide and calcofluor white howed Microporidium pore in large number. Thee pore with polar taining were alo confirmed in Gram tain. One month after initiation of itraconazole, the left eye wa quiet. he had a viual acuity of 6/6 in that eye, with faint corneal haze.
Concluion
We report a rare cae of microporidial keratoconjunctiviti in a HIV-eronegative patient who wa treated by debridement and oral itraconazole. Microporidium hould be upected even in an immunocompetent individual if the corneal examination revealed howed multiple raied epithelial leion
