cleral nodule aociated with arcoidoi

Purpoe To decribe an unuual cae of an inflammatory cleral nodule aociated with ytemic arcoidoi. Deign Obervational cae report. Method A patient preented with a red, painful, elevated cleral nodule on the left eye that wa unreponive to nonteroidal anti-inflammatory drug and topical corticoteroid. Reult Laboratory evaluation wa normal with the exception of elevated liver function tet. Further evaluation by a gatroenterologit revealed a granulomatou hepatiti econdary to arcoidoi, which wa confirmed by liver biopy. Treatment with oral prednione reulted in reolution of the hepatiti and cleral nodule. The patient ha been recurrence-free over 7 month of follow-up. Concluion Although rare, cleral dieae may be aociated with arcoidoi.
