Abstract
Purpoe
To report the cloure of a macular hole after a peribulbar corticoteroid injection in a patient with anterior uveiti aociated with human leukocyte antigen B*27.
Deign
Interventional cae report.
Method
The patient wa evaluated by comprehenive ophthalmic check-up and optical coherence tomography.
Reult
A healthy 50-year-old woman preented to our ervice with active human leukocyte antigen B*27-aociated anterior uveiti, macular hole in the right eye and macular edema in the left eye. Viual acuity wa 20/200 in both eye. Peribulbar injection of triamcinolone acetonide were adminitered in both eye. Three month later, viual acuity improved to 20/50 in both eye, and the uveiti wa in complete remiion. Optical coherence tomography verified that the macular hole in the right eye wa cloed.
Concluion
Inflammation and macular edema might be contributing factor in macular hole formation in patient with uveiti. Thi cae indicate that treatment of inflammation and macular edema might lead to macular hole cloure in imilar cae.
