Abstract :
Purpoe
To decribe pigment diperion aociated with long anterior zonule.
Deign
Multicenter obervational cae erie.
Method
Fifteen patient, even of whom were treated for glaucoma or ocular hypertenion, were identified with long anterior zonule and pigment diperion. Tranmiion electron microcopy wa performed on one anterior capule pecimen.
Reult
All patient had anterior zonule that inerted centrally on the len capule. ign of pigment diperion included corneal endothelial pigmentation, lo of the pupillary ruff, and variable trabecular mehwork pigmentation. Ultraound biomicrocopy verified the lack of poterior iri inertion and concavity. There wa no exfoliation material. Tranmiion electron microcopy howed zonular lamellae with adherent pigment granule, and no exfoliation material.
Concluion
Long anterior zonule inerted onto the central len capule may caue mechanical diruption of the pigment epithelium at the pupillary ruff and central iri leading to pigment diperion.
