Photodynamic therapy with verteporfin for ubfoveal choroidal neovacularization in bet dieae

Purpoe To decribe the effect of photodynamic therapy uing verteporfin for the treatment of ubfoveal choroidal neovacularization (CNV) in Bet vitelliform macular dytrophy. Deign Interventional cae report. Method A 43-year-old patient with confirmed Bet vitelliform macular dytrophy complicated with ubfoveal CNV received a ingle photodynamic therapy eion with verteporfin. The patient wa propectively followed with fluorecein angiography and optical coherence tomography. Reult A regreion of the neovacular leion and reolution of the exudative manifetation wa oberved 3 week after treatment; at that time, viual acuity had improved from 20/60 to 20/25. Optical coherence tomography dicloed retoration of normal macular architecture due to fluid reolution and leion contraction. Up to 2 year from thi ingle treatment, no further change wa oberved. Concluion Regreion of CNV and reolution of ubretinal hemorrhage a well a exudative manifetation occurred after photodynamic therapy with verteporfin. Verteporfin therapy may be a viable treatment for ubfoveal neovacular leion in Bet vitelliform macular dytrophy.
