Abstract :
Purpoe To report a cae erie of contact len–related corneal ulcer in compliant patient with no apparent predipoing factor. Deign Retropective cae erie. Method Chart of 70 patient with contact len–related corneal ulcer from July 1999 to June 2002 were reviewed. Len care hygiene and method of diinfection, a well a frequency of len replacement, were recorded. Only patient who followed recommended guideline for contact len wear were included in the tudy. Reult Of the 70 patient, 21 (30%) developed corneal ulcer depite being compliant with the guideline for contact len wear. All patient ued multipurpoe olution for cleaning, diinfecting, and toring daily wear oft contact lene. Concluion tandard len care hygiene doe not eem to be ufficient in preventing the development of corneal ulcer in patient uing conventional and frequent replacement daily wear oft contact lene.
