Method We aked conecutive patient to gue their IOP and then indicate the IOP and the ymptom that allowed them to gue. Reult Of 132 patient, 22 (17%) believed they could gue their IOP, uually baed on a periocular ymptom (n = 20, 91%). Nine of thee patient (45%) correctly identified whether they were below or above the preure indicated by the ymptom. In two patient who required no ymptom to gue and in nine whoe IOP wa above their ymptom threhold, the mean difference of the gueed IOP from the actual IOP did not differ (± 3.3 mm Hg) from that of control patient (± 2.1 mm Hg, n = 50; r = .19). Concluion Patient who believe they can gue their IOP appear a often inaccurate a accurate in aeing their IOP related to a ymptom threhold and a accurate a patient who claim they cannot gue their IOP.
