Abstract :
Purpoe To fax: 404-778-5089; review clinicopathologic finding of choroidal neovacularization (CNV) in a hitorical framework with emphai on pathobiology and correlation with treatment. Deign elective literature review combined with authorʹ experience. Reult Choroidal neovacularization repreent a tereotypic, nonpecific repone to a pecific timulu. Although CNV differ among patient, the general growth pattern are ubretinal pigment epithelium (type 1), ubretinal (type 2), or combined. Choroidal neovacularization occur over time in dynamic tage of initiation, active and involutional. Treatment are now being deigned baed on modern undertanding of CNV growth. Concluion Progre continue to be made concerning undertanding the pathobiology and treatment of CNV.
