Abstract :
Purpoe
To document econdary glaucoma oberved after intravitreal injection of triamcinolone for cytoid macular edema in central retinal vein occluion.
Deign
An interventional cae erie.
Method
Retropective tudy. The etting wa a tertiary care referral intitute. Nine patient with central retinal vein occluion and cytoid macular edema received 4.0 mg/0.1 ml of intravitreal triamcinolone acetate injected through the inferior par plana under topical anetheia. Baeline intraocular preure were normal in all, and no patient had glaucoma.
Reult
even of the nine patient had a pot-injection rie in intraocular preure, of which one had intractable econdary glaucoma requiring removal of the depot corticoteroid by par plana vitrectomy combined with trabeculectomy. Two patient were controlled only by maximal medical therapy.
Concluion
The occurrence of intractable glaucoma after intravitreal triamcinolone in central retinal vein occluion i a eriou concern and warrant caution in the ue of thi modality for thee patient.
