Vitreoretinal urgery with lit-lamp illumination combined with a wide-angle–viewing contact len

Purpoe To evaluate the feaibility of illuminating the fundu by combining a wide-angle–viewing contact len and lit lamp attached to a urgical microcope during retinal reattachment urgery and vitrectomy. Deign An interventional tudy. Method We combined lit-lamp illumination and a wide-angle–viewing contact len to viualize the fundu during retinal reattachment urgery and vitrectomy. Reult We clearly oberved the fundu uing thi combination approach during conventional retinal reattachment urgery, which we completed without uing an indirect ophthalmocope. With lit-lamp illumination, the wide-angle–viewing contact len provided a wider area of illumination than a planoconcave contact len during vitrectomy in addition to an area of illumination a wide a that obtained uing a light pipe. Concluion Combining lit-lamp illumination and a wide-angle–viewing contact len eem to provide a ueful alternative method for viewing the fundu during vitreoretinal urgery.
