Chronic central erou chorioretinopathy: photodynamic therapy

Purpoe To demontrate, uing optical coherence and fluorecien angiography, the efficacy of photodynamic therapy in treating chronic central erou chorioretinopathy. Deign Interventional cae erie. Method A retropective tudy in a clinical practice etting of four patient (five eye) with chronic central erou chorioretinopathy. The patient were treated with verteporfin photodynamic therapy and evaluated by optical coherence tomography and fluorecien angiography with average follow-up of 10 month. Reult Compared to pre-treatment optical coherence tomography, an acute reduction in ubretinal fluid accumulation and erou detachment with topof leakage wa noted in the five eye treated. Dramatic improvement in viual acuity wa alo noted, epecially among patient with better viion initially. However, pigmentary change perited. Concluion erial optical coherence tomography demontrate that photodynamic therapy with verteporfin appear to have a beneficial effect in treating patient with chronic central erou chorioretinopathy by reducing fluid leakage, ubretinal fluid accumulation, and erou detachment with reultant improvement in viion. Better viual reult might be expected if photodynamic therapy i applied earlier in the coure of the dieae.
