Tranient homonymou hemianopia and poitive viual phenomena in nonketotic hyperglycemic patient

Purpoe To report a cae of a tranient homonymou hemianopia in a patient with nonketotic hyperglycemia with negative magnetic reonance imaging (MRI) can. Deign Cae report. Method A 72-year-old woman with diabete mellitu wa referred to the neuro-ophthalmology ervice with hyperglycemia and multiple viual complaint. Reult The patient wa found to have a dene left homonymou hemianopia on examination. An MRI can of the brain wa negative for a leion affecting the viual pathway. Reolution of the homonymou hemianopia and the patientʹ ymptom came with normalization of her blood glucoe level. Concluion Nonketotic hyperglycemia i an important diagnotic conideration in patient who preent with homonymou viual field defect but have negative neuroimaging tudie.
