Buccal fat pad hemorrhage after retrobulbar injection

Purpoe To enable ophthalmologit to recognize and manage buccal fat pad hemorrhage occurring after retrobulbar injection. Deign Interventional cae report. Method A 52-year-old woman with proliferative diabetic retinopathy underwent left retrobulbar injection before panretinal photocoagulation (PRP). Reult Immediately after PRP, the patient complained of left cheek welling. Ocular examination wa unremarkable. Computed tomographic imaging tudie confirmed the clinical diagnoi of hemorrhage within the buccal fat pad. No hemorrhage wa found within the retrobulbar pace. The hemorrhage reolved pontaneouly without equelae. Concluion Thi cae widen the known pectrum of hemorrhagic complication after retrobulbar injection.
