Abstract :
Purpoe
To report a cae of evere macular burn a a complication of tranpupillary thermotherapy treatment for occult choroidal neovacularization.
Deign
Interventional cae report.
Method
A 65-year-old man developed a evere macular burn following tranpupillary thermotherapy treatment.
Reult
Before treatment, fluorecein angiography and indocyanine green angiography howed a progreive, ill-defined leakage correponding to the preence of occult choroidal neovacularization. One month after treatment, fundu examination dicloed macular atrophy. The early phae of fluorecein angiography and indocyanine green angiography howed that the macular choroidal filling time had worened dramatically. At the late phae of indocyanine green angiography, the initial hyperfluorecence of choroidal neovacularization wa replaced by a peritent, markedly hypofluorecent area.
Concluion
Prolonged choroidal filling may be a rik factor for macular burn and choroidal occluion after tranpupillary thermotherapy. In uch cae, we ugget that tranpupillary thermotherapy hould be conidered with caution and, when applied, that it intenity hould be reduced.
