Abstract :
Purpoe
To examine the baeline retina and optic dik characteritic in children.
Deign
Cro-ectional tudy.
Method
ubject included 679 ubject with myopia and 100 with emmetropia, aged 8 to 13 year. Digital retina imaging and cycloplegic autorefraction were conducted to look for ign of retinal degeneration. Other outcome meaure were vertical and horizontal cup-to-dik (CD) ratio, CD area ratio, parapapillary atrophy (PPA)-to-dik area ratio, and dik rotational angle.
Reult
The prevalence of lattice degeneration wa 0.15% (95% confidence interval: 0.008–1.00). No other retinal abnormalitie were detected. Increaed PPA-to-dik area ratio wa aociated with increaed axial length, increaed myopia everity, and increaing age. Cup-to-dik ratio were maller in ubject with myopia compared with thoe with emmetropia, but thi did not correlate with everity of myopia. In ubject with evere myopia, the upper pole of the dik wa rotated away from the fovea but to leer extent than in thoe with emmetropia or milder myopia.
Concluion
Apart from PPA, degenerative feature were not commonly found in thi tudy.
