Abstract :
Purpoe
Choroidal detachment i a known complication of topical hypotenive agent when ued to treat eye enitized by prior urgery. We document the abrupt development of an extenive choroidal detachment after initiation of dorzolamide therapy in a urgically untreated eye with primary open-angle glaucoma.
Deign
Obervational cae report.
Method
A 76-year-old woman with primary open-angle glaucoma and no hitory of ocular urgery developed a choroidal detachment 12 hour after initiation of therapy with dorzolamide eye drop. Choroidal detachment wa diagnoed clinically and confirmed by echography.
Reult
Withdrawal of the drug and initiation of corticoteroid drop reulted in prompt reolution of the choroidal detachment.
Concluion
Choroidal detachment can occur in urgically untreated eye after ue of a topical carbonic anhydrae inhibitor.
