  • Abstract
    Purpoe To determine if harveting free taral graft from the upper eyelid i aociated with ignificant morbidity. Deign Propective cae erie. Method Conecutive patient managed with free taral graft by three of the author (D.., D.G., R.G.) over a 4-year period. Reult Ninety-one eyelid in 75 patient were operated on uing the free taral graft for variou eyelid pathologie. Mean follow-up period wa 14.83 ± 8.45 month (range, 4 to 42 month). Contour peaking in donor upper eyelid appeared in two eyelid (2.2%), lah ptoi in four eyelid (4.4%) of three patient, and donor ite infection in one eyelid (1.1%). Four patient (5.3%) complained of a tranient ocular dicomfort. There were no cae of potoperative change on the eyelid height, entropion, or keratopathy in the donor ite eye. Mot of the donor ite complication were mild or tranient and required no further urgery. In three patient who underwent ubequent urgery to treat preexiting ptoi or retraction of the donor eyelid, the reult were le predictable and further procedure were required. Concluion Free taral graft harveted from the upper eyelid, with preervation of at leat 4 mm of the taral plate inferiorly, do not lead to ignificant donor ite morbidity. However, ubequent procedure to alter the poition of the donor eyelid may be le predictable.
