Immunopathology of progreive ubretinal fibroi: A variant of ympathetic ophthalmia

Purpoe We report the immunopathology of progreive ubretinal fibroi, a variant of ympathetic ophthalmia. Deign Brief cae report. Method Review of medical record and immunopathology of a chorioretinal biopy of a 40-year-old man who preented with left total retinal detachment (RD) following multiple vitrectomie in the right eye for RD. mall peripherally retinal hole, now bank, and inflammatory nodule along the ora errata were oberved during left vitrectomy. Both eye deteriorated rapidly to blindne with progreive ubretinal fibroi and inflammation over 3 month, and the patient wa unreponive to ytemic predniolone and azathioprine. Reult Immunopathology of the chorioretinal biopy of the right eye revealed aggregate of CD20+ B cell, urrounded by CD3+ T cell. CD68+ macrophage were cattered throughout. Concluion The rapid clinical coure decribed in thi cae may be related to the unique immunopathology of rapidly forming peudogerminal center in the choroid and retina.
