Abstract :
Purpoe
To report a cae of recurrent Thygeonʹ uperficial punctate keratiti (PK) in a patient ubmitted to photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) in one eye and laer in itu keratomileui (LAIK) in the fellow eye.
Deign
Obervational cae report.
Method
A 32-year-old woman wa diagnoed with Thygeonʹ PK 5 year before undergoing PRK on the right eye and LAIK on the left eye to correct −3.00 + 1.50 × 20 and −3.75 ph, repectively.
Reult
The patient preented with recurrence of Thygeonʹ PK in the left eye 10 month after the LAIK procedure and no recurrence on the right eye, which wa treated with PRK.
Concluion
Thi cae report ugget that PRK may be a better option than LAIK in patient with ocular hitory of Thygeonʹ PK. However, no trong concluion can be etablihed until further tudie confirm the hypothei of a lower recurrence rate of Thygeonʹ PK following PRK compared with LAIK.
