Endophthalmiti caued by Klebiella pecie

Purpoe To invetigate clinical etting, antibiotic enitivitie, and viual outcome aociated with endophthalmiti caued by Klebiella pecie. Deign Retropective cae erie. Method Record review of patient with endophthalmiti caued by Klebiella (1984 through2003). Reult Clinical etting included cataract urgery (one eye), trauma (two), perforated corneal ulcer (one), and endogenou aociated with hepatic abce (one). Pretreatment viion wa hand motion or better in four eye (80%). Initial treatment wa enucleation (one eye), par plana vitrectomy (two), and vitreou tap and injection (two); intravitreal antibiotic were adminitered to all nonenucleated eye. Klebiella wa enitive to one or more antibioticadminitered initially in all cae. In nonenucleated eye, final acuity wa ≥20/400 in two, 1/200 in one, and light perception in one. Concluion Depite treatment with appropriate antibiotic, endophthalmiti caued by Klebiella pecie i aociated with generally poor viual outcome.
