Abstract :
Purpoe
To evaluate the dieae involvement in a patient with acute zonal occult outer retinopathy (AZOOR).
Deign
Obervational cae report.
Method
A patient with acute zonal occult outer retinopathy wa imaged with fundu photography, fluorecein and indocyanine green angiography, and autofluorecence photography.
Reult
There wa ubtle depigmentation in the central portion of the leion with a druen-like depoit at the outer border. Fluorecein angiography howed a tranmiion defect centrally and a blocking defect at the border where the druenoid material accumulated. Autofluorecent photography demontrated that the druenoid material wa intenely autofluorecent, conitent with the preence of lipofucin, and the central portion of the leion howed atrophy of the retinal pigment epithelium. Indocyanine green angiography howed atrophy of the choriocapillari underlying area of atrophy of the retinal pigment epithelium.
Concluion
In thi cae acute zonal occult outer retinopathy caued an area of retinal pigment epithelium cell death with lipofucin-laden cell at the border of the expanding leion and aociated atrophy of the underlying choriocapillari.
