Blindne and rectu mucle damage following pinal urgery

Purpoe To report a rare cae of blindne and rectu mucle damage from ocular compreion after pinal urgery. Deign Obervational cae report. Method A 16-year-old girl underwent colioi urgery in the prone poition. After urgery, he complained of viual lo in the right eye. Examination howed no perception of light, periorbital bruiing, corneal haze, fixed dilated pupil, and lo of adduction beyond the midline. Reult Orbital computed tomography can howed a wollen medial rectu with no other orbital pathology. The mucle welling can be explained by ichemia from compreion of the globe againt the medial wall of the orbit. Ocular compreion alo caued retinal and optic nerve ichemia, reulting in lo of viion. Medial rectu function recovered with time, but the patient continue to have no light perception. Concluion Blindne after pinal urgery i a rare but devatating complication, and all precaution to avoid ocular compreion mut be taken.
