Method A 6-year-old girl with neonatal-onet multiytem inflammatory dieae, who had received ytemic corticoteroid therapy for 5 year, had bilateral fibrillar opacitie that urrounded the optic dik and extended into the peripapillary nerve fiber layer and veel. A magnetic reonance imaging examination and lumbar puncture revealed elevated intracranial preure. Reult The elevated intracranial preure returned to normal following a corticoteroid taper. Optic dik photograph, taken 4 year earlier, were ubequently obtained. The optic dik appearance had remained unchanged over the 4-year period, conitent with a peudopapilledema. Concluion The optic dik appearance i not conitent with papilledema from increaed intracranial preure. The optic dik finding, in conjunction with the underlying inflammatory yndrome, ugget an infiltrative etiology for the atypical optic nerve finding in neonatal-onet multiytem inflammatory dieae.
